			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.niceledlights.com">LED lights</a> have found another medium for usefulness in the indoor gardening and commercial food production markets. The commercial industrial production field includes well-trusted methods for growing soil-less plants, such as hyroponics and aquatic plant production.</p>
<p>In areas where natural light is extremely limited in winter months, having the ability to produce adequate amounts of light for continued plant growth presents a real challenge. However grow lights, of which LED light sourcing is now an option, can solve this dilemma by augmenting the amount of time that plants receive precious light.</p>
<p>Why is Natural Daylight so Important for Plant Growth?</p>
<p>Natural daylight has a specially configured colour temperature spectrum that encourages plant growth from the budding stage straight through to maturity. The beginning vegetative phase needs the blue light spectrum, whereas the later flowering stage requires lighting from the red-orange spectra.</p>
<p>With artificial grow lights these different levels of light distribution can be artificially reproduced at levels similar to that of natural daylight.</p>
<p>Are LED Grow Lights Better than Traditional Lights?</p>
<p>LED lights have some distinct advantages when compared to the more traditional grow lights. Here are just a few:</p>
<p>Power consumption when compared to metal halide lights is relatively small.<br />
LED lights give off a minute amount of heat but retain a high level of brightness.<br />
LED lighting units are usually constructed in a modular format, which allows for faster and more efficient reconfiguration and changes to the grow light system.<br />
This same modular set-up allows for the system to accommodate, side by side, a variety of plants all requiring different light spectra.<br />
LED lighting is more suitable to being adjusted to the different light spectra required for successful plant growth<br />
LED bulbs have a multiple-year shelf life.</p>
<p>In the past the cost of LED light production proved to be a prohibitive brick wall to their use in grow lighting systems. However recent developments in scientific research has substantially reduced the manufacturing costs of LED lights.</p>
<p>Other LED Grow Light Advantages</p>
<p>In addition to the levelling of the costs between the LED grow lights and the more traditional metal halide and fluorescent light, there are other positive virtues to LED grow light systems.</p>
<p>When compared with metal halide (MH) lighting, LED lights use a small fraction of the power that MH lights use and there’s no need for ballasts. LED&#8217;s produce the same spectrum of lights as MH lights using 75% less electric power. At that rate a 50-watt LED light can do the same job that a 200-watt MH light can – producing the exact same level of lighting intensity.</p>
<p>Conventional metal halide and fluorescent grow lights usually need to be a few inches from the plant to produce the desired levels of lighting intensity. However LED lighting can provide the required light levels at up to a foot away from the targeted plant subject.</p>
<p>As researchers are finding more ways to increase the power consumption of LED lights, the resulting effect will be more powerful LED grow lights. In today’s market LED grow lights are being made in designs capable of exceeding 600 watts of power – and they can only get more powerful and more efficient.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Advantages of the New Liquid-cooled LED Light Bulbs</p>
<p>A new form of revolutionary liquid-cooled LED lights has entered the stage of more efficient and environmentally-friendly lighting. It is the first in the genre of  “eco” lighting to be able to match the brightness of a regular 100-watt bulb. The innovative technology uses on a tiny fraction of the energy needed to power a normal 100-watt bulb to the same brightness level.</p>
<p>LED lighting has always had one small drawback &#8211; a lower capability of LED lights to produce a similar level of brightness to conventional light bulbs. This shortcoming has curtailed its expansion into more every day use. However, the new liquid-cooled technology has opened to the door for LED lights to be used in many more applications.</p>
<p>The Inner-workings of the Liquid-cooled LED Light</p>
<p>The key ingredient in this new product design is a specially designed fluid solution. The liquid is vacuum-sealed into the <a href="http://www.niceledlights.com">LED light bulb</a>. By creating a liquid in a vacuum, the technology allows for maximum heat dissipation. This in turn enhances the efficient way that the LED components in the light bulb manage heat. </p>
<p>Why is this so important?</p>
<p>The majority of conventional LED-based lights are not designed to optimise heat dissipation. Their design radiates heat and reduces the amount of light produced, ultimately degrading the quality of light emitted and its efficiency. The thermal build-up inside the bulb leads to an inefficient use of energy, which can produce a certain level of toxic build-up.</p>
<p>The new liquid-cooled LED technology uses both liquid and metal conductors, inside the bulb, to achieve optimal heat dissipation. The LED module itself is immersed in liquid to quickly remove heat from hotspots and efficiently disperse it from the entire glass surface. </p>
<p>This liquid serves two purposes by cooling the glass from the inside, whilst the air cools the glass from the outside. In comparison, more traditional LED bulbs attempt to dissipate the heat at the base of the bulb. This method is a much more inefficient and costly. The liquid-cooled technology prevents hotspots, which are notoriously dangerous and add to the increased inefficiency of the lighting product.</p>
<p>Liquid LEDs Improve Light Transmission and Efficiency</p>
<p>The liquid used in the new LED technology is non-toxic and harmless. It is made from a mineral oil that is safe for human consumption and biodegradable. The environmental benefits to this new technology are maximised in conjunction with reduced energy consumption levels.</p>
<p>One of the great benefits to using this type of light bulb is the improved transmission of light. These liquid-cooled light bulbs are able to diffuse light at an angle greater than 260 degrees. In previous incarnations of  LED lights this deficiency restricted their use to spot-lighting and under-cabinet lighting. </p>
<p>Recent generations of LED lighting designers were able to use frosting and other types of coating to create a more ambient form of light diffusion. However this resulted in greater inefficiency and heat build-up inside the bulb. </p>
<p>The latest liquid-cooled technology solves all of the above problems &#8211; allowing for an ambient light source that is both efficient and designer.</p>

<p>LED Technology has come a long way since its inception. The initial basic usage for this type of technology was in traffic signals and other areas where incandescent lighting proved to be very inefficient and costly.</p>
<p>Nowadays LED technology has become cheaper to manufacture and much more efficient. Many segments of the lighting industry have started using this technology in areas previously reserved for fluorescent and incandescent lighting.</p>
<p>In the Very Beginnings</p>
<p>In many industries, LED lighting technology has replaced other more conventional types of lighting.</p>
<p>•	Neon Lights of Broadway and Vegas</p>
<p>Neon lighting has long since dominated many of the bright lights of New York City’s famous Broadway and The Las Vegas Strip of hotels and casinos.</p>
<p>When LEDs entered the market they offered so much more than the traditional neon lights. The commercial application of LED lights in this type of architectural lighting can result in a sizeable savings in energy costs – up to seventy-five percent over neon lights. </p>
<p>They also provide better visibility and cost less to maintain, as well as lasting up to five times longer than conventional neon lights. LED signs can last up to ten years before any necessary replacement. </p>
<p>•	Supermarket Refrigeration Displays</p>
<p>In supermarkets, the majority of refrigerated display units were lit with fluorescent lighting. Unfortunately, fluorescent bulbs generate heat that cannot be easily disposed of inside the casing. This inefficient system, where the refrigeration unit has to compete with outside temperatures as well as the heat from the fluorescent lights, is very costly. </p>
<p>The refrigeration unit system can easily dissipate and transfer the heat generated by LED lights outside of the unit. This creates a much-reduced need for refrigeration energy levels.</p>
<p>In tests the new <a href="http://www.niceledlights.com">LED technology</a> blew fluorescent lighting out of the water in regards to cost and energy-conservation. The numbers were staggering. Major supermarket chains reported a projected savings of almost two thirds over current refrigeration lighting display costs.</p>
